While reading this book slaughterhouse-five I can help but be reminded of a book I read in 7th grade. It had the same writing style of jumping back and forth between the present and the past.
The book is about a teenage father trying to take care of his infant daughter. It skips back and forth between his girlfriend Nia's pregnancy and him struggling to care of an infant. Because of the skipping back and forth between the future and the present it keeps the book interesting. It gives a good insight to what it is like to be a teen parent and the choices you are forced to make.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes the style of Slaughterhouse-five.
I read this book in middle school too, and I actually forgot all about it until I saw your blog post. Now that I think about it, I was confused by this writing style when I read it, but still loved the book. It also relates to slaughterhouse five because it focuses on a current issue or recurring theme - like teen pregnancy or war.
